CC Work Session 2. 1. <br /> Meeting Date: 06/28/2022 <br /> Information <br /> Title: <br /> Provide Direction on 2023 City-Led Project to Extend/Reconstruct Riverdale Drive East of Sunfish Lake Boulevard <br /> Purpose/Background: <br /> Anoka County requests that the City consider leading the portion of the Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 <br /> Improvements project involving construction/reconstruction of Riverdale Drive east of Sunfish Lake Boulevard in <br /> the summer of 2023 to reduce the project construction schedule. Figure 1 (attached) shows the proposed scope of <br /> work. <br /> Anoka County is requesting the City to advertise for bids using the associated plans and specifications being <br /> prepared by Bolton&Menk, and for the City to administer all aspects of construction of the proposed <br /> improvements via an agreement with Anoka County. <br /> If the City is agreeable to this proposed plan,Anoka County would draft the agreement and send it to the City for <br /> review,then both parties would execute the agreement in advance of advertising for bids. <br /> Staff from Anoka County and Bolton&Menk will be in attendance to discuss the purpose and benefits associated <br /> with this request, estimated project costs, the agreement process, and potential funding scenarios. <br /> The current estimated construction cost is $1.5M. <br /> Construction of this segment of Riverdale Drive is currently proposed to start no later than September of 2023. If <br /> the agencies prefer,there would be flexibility to start construction earlier,perhaps in July or August. The <br /> construction start date will depend on the timing of right-of-way and property acquisitions,which are currently <br /> anticipated to be complete in April of 2023. Based on this timeline,the preliminary project schedule would be as <br /> follows; <br /> Title&Possession—April 2023 <br /> Approve plans and specifications—May 2023 <br /> Advertise bids—June 2023 <br /> Open bids—July 2023 <br /> Start construction—August 2023 <br /> Open House#3 Reminder <br /> .Public open house#3 will be held Wednesday, June 29th, in the Alexander Ramsey Room. During these open <br /> houses,project design updates and other project-related information will be presented to locally impacted <br /> businesses and property owners from 7:00—9:30 AM,then to residents and the general public from 5:00— <br /> 7:00 PM. <br /> The attached open house information is posted on the City's website, on the project website at <br /> AnokaCountyRamseyGateway.com, and is being posted on social media on the dates indicated. <br /> Timeframe: <br /> Staff anticipates 25 minutes will be required to present and discuss the case. <br /> Funding Source: <br />
