Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #22-170 RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 3 FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #22-05, RIVERDALE DRIVE TRUNK UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS, LLAMA STREET TO BOWERS DRIVE WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #21-305 adopted October 26, 2021, the City Council accepted the design services proposal of Bolton & Menk, Inc. for providing engineering services required to develop final plans and specifications for the purpose of soliciting bids for the construction of Improvement Project#22-05; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #22-040 the City Council approved the plans and specifications prepared by Bolton & Menk, Inc. for the making of such improvements, and authorizes the advertisement of bids for the same improvements as City Improvement Project#22-05; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #22-072 the City Council authorized entering into a construction contract with Douglas Kerr Underground for the making of such improvements; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #22-087 the City Council authorized executing Change Order No. 1 approving the installation of plastic watermain in lieu of ductile iron watermain to ensure utilities are operational in time to serve the Riverstone South development; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #22-119 the City Council authorized executing Change Order No. 2 approving removal of the existing septic system tank serving the abandoned property at 8846 Highway 10 NW, which was proposed to be removed during Improvement Project #20-05 but collapsed during construction of Improvement Proj ect #22-05, requiring the emergency removal of the tank due to health and safety concerns; and WHEREAS, on June 29, 2022, the City of Ramsey Fire Department burned the abandoned residential home at 8846 Highway 10 NW, which required removal for the extension of Riverdale Drive, to provide real-life training opportunities for fire department personnel; and WHEREAS, the burned building debris and building foundation materials must be removed, hauled off site and disposed of, the foundation area must be filled with suitable material and compacted, and turf must be established over all disturbed areas; and WHEREAS, two quotes were received to complete this work and Douglas-Kerr Underground, LLC provided the lowest responsible quote in the amount of$9,800.
