u <br />'I <br />AD INISTIRATION <br />August 17, 2022 <br />Contact: Erik Thorson, Communications Director, 763-324-4612, or e-mail: <br />Erik.Thorson( co.anoka.mn.us <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br />New Elections Manager Starts in Anoka County <br />The Anoka County Board of Commissioners at its Aug. 9 meeting approved an <br />employment agreement with Thomas Hunt to serve as the county's next elections manager. <br />Hunt has a bachelor's degree in political science and international relations from St. Cloud <br />State University and worked for about 10 years in the financial industry before being hired by <br />Anoka County in 2019 as the county's lead elections specialist. In that position, Hunt was <br />responsible for all the county's poll books, election judge hiring and training, as well as running <br />the absentee ballot boards. For the 2020 election, Hunt also ran daily ballot boards. <br />Hunt is a military veteran, having served for 8 years in the U.S. Army National Guard. He <br />also serves on the City of Ramsey's Planning Commission. <br />"After my time in the financial industry, I was looking for a public service position that <br />more closely matched my education, and fortunately I was able to find a position in the Anoka <br />County Elections and Voter Registration Department," Hunt said.
