Councilmember Musgrove introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #22-162 RESOLUTION APPROVING GRANT FROM SIGN AND AWNING PROGRAM TO MISS IZ ICE CREAM LLC WHEREAS, City Staff has been working with Miss Iz Ice Cream LLC (The “Applicant”) to identify a Ramsey location for this growing home business; and WHEREAS, the Applicant has filled out a complete application for the Sign and Awning program at 14050 St Francis Boulevard NW and has requested $1,500 to fund the signage for this new restaurant/bakery; and WHEREAS, utilization of the Sign and Awning program is based on the availability of EDA marketing funds (9230-6246) on an annual basis and is awarded on a case by case basis; and WHEREAS, the Applicant has received two quotes and the cost for the restaurant signage and monument signage is approximately $8,000; and WHEREAS, The EDA met on July 16, 2022 and recommended awarding $1,500 to Miss Iz Ice Cream LLC from the Sign and Awning program; and WHEREAS, Miss Iz Ice Cream LLC is a company that is active and in good standing as documented in the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State as of July 18, 2022. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council authorizes awarding a grant of $1500 from the Sign and Awning Program to Miss Iz Ice Cream to be funded through 9230-6246 (EDA Marketing); subject to Economic Development Manager review and completion of the project. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Howell, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Kuzma Councilmember Musgrove Councilmember Howell Councilmember Heineman Councilmember Riley Councilmember Specht Councilmember Woestehoff
