<br />Councilmember Howell introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #22-165 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT FOR OPERATIONS <br />TH <br />OF A COMPUTER BUSINESS ON THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 5435 180 LN NW <br />AND DECLARING TERMS OF PERMIT <br /> <br />RECITALS <br /> <br />1. William and Jenna MacLennan, hereinafter referred to as the “Permittees”, have properly <br />applied for a Home Occupation Permit (the “Permit”) to operate a computer business (the <br />th <br />“Home Occupation”) on the property located at 5435 180 Ln NW and legally described <br />as follows: <br />FORD BROOK ESTATES LOT 1 BLK 10 FORD BROOK ESTATES (SUBJECT <br />TO EASEMENT AS SHOWN ON PLAT), Anoka County, Minnesota <br /> <br />(the “Subject Property”) <br /> <br />2. That on June 26, 2022, the Permittee submitted a completed questionnaire, land use <br />application, property survey, architectural plans, and fees regarding the Home <br />Occupation for a computer business on the Subject Property. <br /> <br />3. That the Subject Property is zoned R-1 Residential (Rural Developing) and the <br />surrounding parcels to the east, west, and south are also zoned R-1 Residential (Rural <br />Developing). The parcels to the north are in the City of Nowthen. <br /> <br />4. That the Subject Property is approximately 0.77 acres in size and is surrounded by lots <br />ranging in size from 0.17 acres to 1.01 acres. <br /> <br />5. That the Subject Property is guided for Rural Developing (residential) in the City’s <br />Future Land Use Map. <br /> <br />6. That the Permittee owns the Subject Property, and will occupy the dwelling while <br />conducting business on the Subject Property. <br /> <br />7. That the Home Occupation is proposed to be based out of the proposed 1,350 square <br />foot, two-story accessory structure on site where the computer equipment and personal <br />vehicles will be stored. <br /> <br />8. That the Permittees have stated there will be at least 400 square feet of garage space <br />reserved for indoor residential parking and storage in an attached garage related to <br />residential use on the Subject Property, as established in City Code Section 117-351 <br />(Home Occupation). <br /> <br />9. There will not be any business signs at the Subject Property. <br /> <br />
