Public Works Committee 6. 1. <br />Meeting Date: 07/19/2022 <br />By: Bruce Westby, Engineering/Public <br />Works <br />Title: <br />Receive Update on Available Funding Assistance for Basement Waterproofing <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: <br />The purpose of this case is to inform the Public Works Committee on available funding sources to assist property <br />owners with wet basements to fund waterproofing projects. Staff is also seeking direction on whether a webpage <br />should be added to the City's website to make this and other associated information available to the public. <br />Background: <br />Attached are several AgendaQuick cases from numerous Public Works Committee (PWC) meetings over the years <br />addressing issues across the City related to high water levels and flooding. <br />Also attached are minutes from the same PWC meetings. <br />During discussions at these meetings, Staff was directed to research external funding sources available to property <br />owners to assist with funding of basement waterproofing projects. <br />Attached is a spreadsheet showing numerous external funding sources researched by Staff, along with Staff's <br />findings. <br />Timeframe: <br />Staff estimates 10 minutes will be needed to present and discuss this case. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />This information would benefit the public if it was made available on the City's website. <br />Funding Source: <br />Based on discussion. <br />Recommendation: <br />Based on discussion. <br />Action: <br />Based on discussion. <br />Attachments <br />Basement Waterproofing Funding Sources List <br />PWC case 1899 <br />PWC minutes case 1899 <br />PWC case 5033 <br />
