Commissioner Walker aye <br />Commissioner VanScoy aye <br />Commissioner Anderson aye <br />Commissioner Hunt aye <br />Acting Chairperson Gengler aye <br />Motion Carried. <br />6.02: Public Hearing: Consider a Site Plan and Conditional Use Permit for Lil Explorers <br />at 14725 Ramsey Boulevard NW <br />Public Hearing <br />Acting Chairperson Gengler called the public hearing to order at 7:23 p.m. <br />Presentation <br />City Planner McCann presented the staff report stating that staff recommends adoption of <br />Resolution #22-194 and Resolution #22-195 approving the Conditional Use Permit and Site Plan <br />on the subject property. <br />Citizen Innut <br />Jeremey Spaude, applicant, stated that they have been working with staff to adjust the lighting plan <br />and provided details. He noted that they would also be moving trees to the eastern side of the <br />property. He commented that there are a lot of trees, and they will be able to provide more details <br />once the tree company is onsite, noting that they will move as many trees as they can. <br />Commissioner Walker asked for more details on the business. <br />Mr. Spaude replied that there will be 120 children of preschool age with a full preschool program, <br />along with an infant toddler program. He noted that there are four playgrounds that will be age <br />specific. <br />Commissioner VanScoy asked if the purpose of moving trees is to provide a buffer between uses. <br />Mr. Spaude replied that they would move trees in attempt to better comply with the tree <br />preservation guidelines of the City and to provide a buffer to the residential properties. He <br />provided additional details on the landscaping plan which includes the berm, plantings, and <br />relocation of trees. <br />Commissioner VanScoy agreed the two staged approach seems to provide the most benefit to both <br />properties. <br />Acting Chairperson Gengler asked if there are playgrounds on both sides of the building. <br />Planning Commission/ August 25, 2022 <br />Page 5 of 27 <br />
