City's Zoning Permit Information <br />Since April 12, 2007, there have been 1,221 zoning permits applied for in the City of Ramsey. <br />• Accessory Structure: 283 <br />• Agricultural Building: 2 <br />• Dock: 4 <br />• Fence: 658 <br />• Driveway: 216 <br />• Hot Tub: 14 <br />• Parking Pad: 6 <br />• Patio: 13 <br />• Swimming Pool/Spa: 18 <br />• Other/Misc./Unknown: 7 <br />The typical turnover time from the application date until the final plans are approved is approximately five (5) <br />business days. During this time, past applicants have had to reschedule contractors at additional costs and delayed <br />their improvements. An operational flowchart is attached to help visually represent the week timeframe. <br />Example handouts that the City currently has on -hand for fences and swimming pools. Staff could create additional <br />handouts for driveways, parking pads, and structures that are 200 square feet or less. <br />Neighboring City Research <br />Dana Verbeek, the City's Planning Administrative Assistant, also reached out to several other cities about their <br />zoning permit processes and requirements. It was discovered that many of the cities contacted do not require zoning <br />permits.
