CC Work Session 2. 1. <br />Meeting Date: 09/27/2022 <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Charter Commission Update <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: The purpose of this discussion is to update the Council on a Charter Commission seat that expires <br />December 31, 2022 and seek additional clarification regarding the process. <br />Background: There is one seat on the Charter Commission that is expiring December 31, 2022, and the <br />commissioner has indicated their desire to be reappointed. Based on the Charter Recruitment policy, if all <br />incumbents wish to be reappointed an annual recruitment process will be conducted for potential future vacancies. <br />Based on that policy language, staff is seeking clarification on which of the following actions to take: <br />A) Submit just the incumbent's reapplication materials <br />B) Submit the incumbent's reapplication materials AND all applications received in the last 14 months <br />C) Submit incumbent's reapplication materials AND all applications received in the last 14 months AND any new <br />applications <br />D) Other action <br />Staff believes the City Council's intent is aligned with option A, but would like to confirm before proceeding. <br />Advertising: The current ongoing Charter Commission ad in the Ramsey Resident is attached. Discuss possible <br />changes for the November/December issue of the Ramsey Resident.
