Councilmember Howell asked if there was any way to treat manganese in water outside of a water <br />treatment plant. <br /> <br />City Engineer/Interim Public Works Director Westby explained that there are some biological <br />treatments that could be used in the different pumps. These well options that were looked at early <br />on. He said there are not any portable options that could treat the whole water supply system. <br /> <br />Councilmember Specht mentioned that water softeners are effective in removing manganese and <br />asked if rebates could be offered for those who get a water softener to encourage that. <br /> <br />There was a consensus of the Council <br /> <br />3.
