Purpose/Background: The purpose of this case is for the City Council to promote two Police Patrol Officers to Police Patrol Sergeants. Police Patrol Sergeant Kyle Hemmerich and Police Patrol Sergeant Gary Voit recently departed the Police Department, leaving two openings. Staff conducted an internal recruitment and interviewed eight Police Patrol Officers for the two openings. Officer James Bagne and Officer Nick Dahlberg were selected to fill the openings. A recruitment is underway to backfill three Police Patrol Officer vacancies which were created due to Sergeant Hemmerich and Sergeant Voit's departure, as well as the vacancy created due to Police Patrol Officer James Bonine's recent departure. Funding Source: The funding required for this action is included in the approved budget. Recommendation: To promote Police Patrol Officer James Bagne to Police Patrol Sergeant, effective 10-22-22 at $45.998 per hour, which is step 3 of the Sergeant pay scale and to promote Police Patrol Officer Nick Dahlberg to Police Patrol Sergeant, effective 10-22-22 at $47.514 per hour which is step 4 of the Sergeant pay scle. Action: Motion to promote Police Patrol Officer James Bagne to Police Patrol Sergeant, effective 10-22-22 at $45.998 per hour, which is step 3 of the Sergeant pay scale and to promote Police Patrol Officer Nick Dahlberg to Police Patrol Sergeant, effective 10-22-22 at $47.514 per hour which is step 4 of the Sergeant pay scle.
