The DNR provided information on their records for the normal water level of the wetland. This information was used to guide the design of the outlet. Timeframe: The presentation is anticipated to take 10 minutes. Staff does not have a time frame for the discussion, it is anticipated that some of the residents will be present to express their concerns. Observations/Alternatives: Staff requested and recieved City Council authorization to prepare Plans and Specifications for constructing a permanent outlet structure for this wetland. Staff will present information on the plans and specifications for committee review. Review of the existing sanitary manhole rim elevations indicate several rims will need to be raised to be above the normal water level elevation of the wetland so that water does not enter the structure. This work is reflected in the plans. There is an existing board walk that provides access to a sanitary sewer manhole. This board walk is in poor condition, It will be removed and replaced under a separate contract coordinated by the Parks department. A meeting has been scheduled with the DNR to review the proposed plans and prepare an application for a DNR permit to construct the outlet structure. This work will need to be performed during the winter when there is ice on the wetland to allow access to the Manholes. Funding Source: The funding source will be the Stormwater Utility Fund. The Engineers Estimate for this project is $16,000.
