Sml'l' member Chris Anderson mentioned that if this sign does get adopted, he suggested a slight <br />chango will be necessary to the verbiage in the buffer ordinance. As it is written now, it is stated <br /> thc ot'dinance that the sign will say no mo~ing allowed or vegetation clearing limit. It will <br />~oi require a public hearing, but it will need to be amended. <br /> <br />Board Member Max made an amendment to his motion to accept the sign concept as described, <br />:;tipulating white on brown, and to make the appropriate changes to the ordinance to reflect the <br />new language. Board Member HusWedt seconded the motion again. Motion passed <br />ctnanilnously. <br /> <br />Board IVlcmber Max asked for more discussion regarding anchoring. Board Member Bentz <br />.,~tatcd that he felt that concrete would be more expensive. Board Member Max stated that he felt <br />Lreatcd wood might not stand up in a wetland for very long, Board Member Bentz stated that he <br />I'~lt cedar would work. <br /> <br />Staff member Chris Anderson reminded the Board members that this sign was not going in at the <br />del incated edge of the wetland but rather at the edge of the wetland buffer. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda stated that a galvanized stake might work. He stated that even with <br />cement, i.t tends to heave with the frost line, so going with concrete might not be feasible. He <br />stated that hc felt an important point for consideration is to make sure the City has a way to work <br />wi~h that. Environmental Specialist Bruce Bacon stated that there are also plastic posts or <br />~'e~:ycled polymer. Board Member Max stated that there are local providers who sell polymer <br /> <br />Case #3: Wetland Buffer update <br /> <br />Staff member Chris Anderson stated that there is'not a whole lot of news other than this issue is <br />on thc City Council work session agenda for Tuesday, September 20, 2005. Several Members of <br />tllc Board stated that they could attend the meeting. Staff member Chris Anderson stated that he <br />spoke with Jim Arndt of Peterson Environmental. Staff member Chris Anderson stated that both <br />Mc AFndt and Mr. Peterson are planning to attend the council meeting. <br /> <br />Ci[y Council Liaison Strommen asked staff member Chris Anderson if he had put any thought <br />into thc lbrmat for council discussion. She stated that she was hoping that the City Council <br />w(~uld bc prepared prior to the meeting. She stated that it is really hard to sit and discuss things <br />ii.' people haven't read the necessary information, which is something that the EPB has run into <br />i. wice in tl~e past and been hung up on it. <br /> <br />St:tFf member Chris Anderson stated that he envisioned a quick summary and opening it up to <br />qucstion:~ from the council. Staff member Chris Anderson stated that Merlyn Hunt, John <br />l:.F~gstrom, and Mr. Bruce Bacon ail plan on being there as land owners. <br /> <br />City Cocmcil Liaison Strommen clarified that it wouldn't be a public hearing.
