Sml'l' member Chris Anderson mentioned that if this sign does get adopted, he suggested a slight chango will be necessary to the verbiage in the buffer ordinance. As it is written now, it is stated thc ot'dinance that the sign will say no mo~ing allowed or vegetation clearing limit. It will ~oi require a public hearing, but it will need to be amended. Board Member Max made an amendment to his motion to accept the sign concept as described, :;tipulating white on brown, and to make the appropriate changes to the ordinance to reflect the new language. Board Member HusWedt seconded the motion again. Motion passed ctnanilnously. Board IVlcmber Max asked for more discussion regarding anchoring. Board Member Bentz .,~tatcd that he felt that concrete would be more expensive. Board Member Max stated that he felt Lreatcd wood might not stand up in a wetland for very long, Board Member Bentz stated that he I'~lt cedar would work. Staff member Chris Anderson reminded the Board members that this sign was not going in at the del incated edge of the wetland but rather at the edge of the wetland buffer. Chairperson McDilda stated that a galvanized stake might work. He stated that even with cement, i.t tends to heave with the frost line, so going with concrete might not be feasible. He stated that hc felt an important point for consideration is to make sure the City has a way to work wi~h that. Environmental Specialist Bruce Bacon stated that there are also plastic posts or ~'e~:ycled polymer. Several Members of tllc Board stated that they could attend the meeting. Staff member Chris Anderson stated that he spoke with Jim Arndt of Peterson Environmental. Staff member Chris Anderson stated that both Mc AFndt and Mr. Peterson are planning to attend the council meeting. Ci[y Council Liaison Strommen asked staff member Chris Anderson if he had put any thought into thc lbrmat for council discussion. She stated that she was hoping that the City Council w(~uld bc prepared prior to the meeting.
