ORDINANCE 22-26 <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CHARTER OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, <br />MINNESOTA PROHIBITING MEMBERSHIP ON THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br />BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS OF NON -CITY OF RAMSEY RESIDENTS <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br />SECTION 1. AUTHORITY <br />This Ordinance is adopted pursuant to the authority of the City Charter of the City of Ramsey <br />and such authority as it is given under Minnesota Statutes Section 410.12, subdivision 5. <br />SECTION 2. <br />The Section 2.2 of the City of Ramsey Charter is amended to read as follows: <br />"Sec. 2.2 — Boards and commissions. <br />There shall be no separate administrative board of health, library board, or any other <br />administrative board or commission except for the administration of a function jointly with <br />another political subdivision. The council shall itself be and perform the duties and exercise the <br />powers of such boards and commissions provided for by state statutes. The council may, <br />however, establish or abolish by ordinance boards or commissions to advise the council with <br />respect to any municipal function or activity, or to perform quasi-judicial functions. Notice of <br />initial formation and all vacancies shall be published in the city newsletter and in the legal <br />newspaper. Membership of various boards and commissions shall not exceed nine members, all <br />members of which shall be residents of the City of Ramsey. <br />SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE <br />This ordinance becomes effective 90 days after its passage and publication as provided in City of Ramsey <br />Charter 3.9 and Minnesota Statutes Section 410.12, Subdivision 5, as may be modified by any action <br />undertaken pursuant to City of Ramsey Charter Section 5. <br />
