permitting and quoting process will take no, longer .than three weeks, which would put the
de~m)lition date on October 28th at the earliest. He noted it was determined at the last meeting
1here would not be food supplied at the event, however, it has been suggested that a warm
beverage such as coffee or hot chocolate be served due to the timing of the event in October or
November. The bank is willing to help out with any accommodations that are needed. He
indicated Mayor Gamec would like to speak at the event. He requested direction regarding the
Economic Development sign to be posted on the site in relation to specific language, colors, and
whether there should be an EDA logo on the sign.

l'hc consensus of the EDA was to direct staff to determine the exact wording on the Economic
1)evelopment sign, which should state something similar to Building Demolition- October 28th-
?~blic 7iewing ~elcome, that the sign be of the same colors as the Community Revitalization
si[ms, and that the EDA logo should not be included on the sign.

Iiconomic Development/TIF Specialist Sullivan requested the EDA to identify a week to hold
the clcm()lition. He indicated after the determination regarding asbestos abatement on the site
there will be a one-week notice needed for the MPCA permit.

Thc consensus o~' the EDA was to direct staff to organize the demolition event during the week
or' October 3 l, 2005.

I~conomic Development/TIF Specialist Sullivan requested direction on whether the EDA will be
tmthorizing the payment of a warm beverage out of the EDA budget.

Member LeTourneau volunteered to contact local vendors regarding the donation of the warm
beverage lbr the event.

E~;onom ic Development/TIF Specialist Sullivan indicated he would envision some type of office
use on thc site. He reported he received a call from a developer expressing interest in the site.

Member' Kiefer inquired about the possibility of placing a covenant on the site that would require
it t~) build off the architecture of Town Hall and the Landmark Bank. Economic
I)evclopment/TIF Specialist Sullivan replied the City owns the property and has the ability to
make requirements through the site planning process. Covenants could deter interest in the
p~'opcrty, rather than working with the developer at the staff level.

Member Kiefer asked how much notice the EDA will be given regarding the event. Economic
Dcvel~pment/TIF Specialist Sullivan replied the MPCA permit is a ten-day process, so there will
be a ten-day notification after the asbestos abatement process is completed. He explained,
regarding notification of events, it is not standard policy for EDA members to receive the
Wcel<ly Update, which usually includes this type of information.

~Ihc EDA discussed the possibility of Economic Development/TIF Specialist Sullivan
tbrwarding the Weekly Update or the calendar of events included in the Weekly Update to the
I~D:\ m embers.

Economic Development Authority/October 12, 2005
Page 3 of 5
