<br />Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #22-234 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MINNESOTA STATE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION <br />ST <br />INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT APPLICATION FOR 161AVENUE <br />RECONSTRUCTION, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #23-01 <br /> <br />st <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey proposes to reconstruct 161 Avenue between Armstrong <br />Boulevard and Variolite Street; and <br /> <br />rd <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council resolution #22-200, adopted August 23, <br />2022, the City Council ordered the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for <br />st <br />Improvement Project #23-01, 161 Avenue Reconstruction; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City proposes to construct off-street facilities to connect existing facilities <br />st <br />between Armstrong Boulevard and Variolite Street as part of Improvement Project #23-01, 161 <br />Avenue Reconstruction; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this improvement project is consistent with the goals and objectives of the <br />Minnesota Active Transportation State Infrastructure Program and the City of Ramsey’s Strategic <br />Plan to create a connected and active community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City represents that the proposed off-street facilities between Armstrong <br />Boulevard and Variolite Street meets the requirements of the Minnesota Active Transportation <br />State Infrastructure Grant, thereby allowing the project to receive grant funding between $50,000 <br />and $500,000, based upon reimbursement of actual lowest responsible bid; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has the capability to adequately fund its local cost share for this <br />improvement project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City agrees to comply with all applicable laws and regulations as stated <br />in the grant agreement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has the necessary capabilities to adequately develop, implement, <br />manage, and maintain this public improvement project. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes Staff to apply for between $50,000 and <br />$500,000 in funding through the Minnesota Active Transportation State Infrastructure <br />Program to construct off-street facilities between Armstrong Boulevard and Variolite <br />st <br />Street as part of Improvement Project #23-01, 161 Avenue Reconstruction. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
