<br />Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #22-235 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MINNESOTA STATE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION <br />TH <br />INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT APPLICATION FOR 167 AVENUE <br />RECONSTRUCTION, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #23-04 <br /> <br />th <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey proposes to reconstruct 167 Avenue between Nowthen <br />Boulevard (CSAH 5) and St. Francis Boulevard (TH 47); and <br /> <br />rd <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council resolution #22-201, adopted August 23, <br />2022, the City Council ordered the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for <br />st <br />Improvement Project #23-04, 167 Avenue Reconstruction; and <br /> <br />th <br /> WHEREAS, the City proposes to construct pedestrian and bicycle facilities along 167 <br />Avenue to connect to existing facilities at Nowthen Boulevard (CSAH 5) as part of Improvement <br />th <br />Project #23-04, 167 Avenue Reconstruction; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this improvement project is consistent with the goals and objectives of the <br />Minnesota Active Transportation State Infrastructure Program and the City of Ramsey’s Strategic <br />Plan to create a connected and active community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City represents that the proposed pedestrian and bicycle facilities meet <br />the requirements of the Minnesota Active Transportation State Infrastructure Grant, thereby <br />allowing the project to receive grant funding between $50,000 and $500,000, based upon <br />reimbursement of actual lowest responsible bid; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has the capability to adequately fund its local cost share for this <br />improvement project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City agrees to comply with all applicable laws and regulations as stated <br />in the grant agreement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has the necessary capabilities to adequately develop, implement, <br />manage, and maintain this public improvement project. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes Staff to apply for between $50,000 and <br />$500,000 in funding through the Minnesota Active Transportation State Infrastructure <br />th <br />Program to construct pedestrian and bicycle facilities along 167 Avenue as part of <br />th <br />Improvement Project #23-04, 167 Avenue Reconstruction. <br /> <br /> <br />Resolution #22-235 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />
