I would request that you pass this email onto the council members/planning commission who are involved in making decisions of this nature so they can review prior to the November 3nd public meeting. My concerns rest with GM Home's points of discussion regarding 152"d Avenue and 15211d Lane through/access streets. I do not understand why they are trying to push 152"d Lane as a through street. This will cause a great deal of alarm and distress in our neighborhood which has 40+ children, most under the age of 12. 1 am confused why they do "not feel the need to create turmoil in the neighborhood if 152"d Avenue..:", but feel it is okay to create turmoil in our neighborhood, where there are a lot more families that will be affected. Our neighborhood on Germanium Street is very close, we have a nice community. There is a feeling of safety and security knowing that the street does not go through to any other neighborhoods. We know where our children are and are not worried about people taking 'short cuts' through our neighborhood to get from Point A to Point B. I do not understand why the developer is adamant about making 152°d Lane an access to the new development. I realize the sewer/water extension is north of our street, but what does that have to do with an access street? I've talked to engineers, and they stated that is no reason for an access point. The question still remains why would our neighborhood be targeted as a through street? There would be so many children at risk of serious, possibly fatal accidents . involving motor vehicles and the upset of more traffic. If his plan proposes a future through street on 152"d Avenue, why not just do it NOW. It would be great access from CR 47/St. Francis Blvd and is the logical solution. There are only a handful of dwellings that would be affected, a fraction of homes in comparison to 152"d Lane. As I recall, there was already a proposed access off of Alpine or Nowthen Blvd., as well as Helium Street. I wonder why a development of 51 homes would warrant so many access points, when our neighborhood of 40+ homes only has one access and our community doesn't want it any other . way. I just don't understand why 152°d Lane would even be considered, when 152"d Avenue makes so much more sense. As well, I do agree that they need an access off of Alpine, BUT NOT THROUGH AN ALREADY EXISTING NEIGHBORHOOD. . Please realize this is of utmost importance to me. I feel my children, ages 2 and 7, would be in great danger if they open this road to a new development, not to mention the other 40 children in the neighborhood. My daughter wouldn't be allowed to ride her bike anymore, my son would have to be practically chained up to make sure he didn't make his way to the front yard. People would, undoubtedly, speed through our neighborhood endangering the lives of our children, -257-
