Voting No: None. <br />2) Consider Ending Probationary Period for Public Works maintenance Worker <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that on March 28, 2005, Terry Byron, Jr. was hired as <br />a Public works Maintenance Worker. Mr. Byron has successfully completed his six-month <br />probationary period and the Public Works Director recommends retaining Mr. Byron as a full- <br />time regular Public Works Maintenance Worker. The Personnel Committee recommended <br />ending his probationary period. <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook and seconded by Councilmember Pearson. to adopt Resolution <br />905-11-372 ending the probationary period for Terry Byron, Jr. and granting status as a full-time <br />regular Public Works Maintenance Worker. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Pearson, Elvig, Jeffrey, <br />Olson and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br />Case 412: Report from Public Works <br />Councilmember Cook stated that the Public Works Committee met on October 18, 2005, at the <br />new Public Works Facility and temporary building, and discussed five cases. <br />1) Consider Request to Remove Drainage Pond at-5907 — 1515t Lane NW <br />Councilmember Cook stated there is a drainage pond located at 5907 — 151" Lane NW and the <br />person neighboring this pond Auld like to see it removed. The pond is a filtration pond and the <br />water has to have a sediment pond. It may be possible to re -delineate the area around the pond <br />and look at also if the exiting water can be changed to a different elevation - if it could be <br />redesigned, etc. <br />Mayor Gamec stated that we have done some things with dry wells. <br />It was noted that 2/3 of this property is in the drainage easement. <br />Councilmember Cook stated that the Committee talked about lowering the outlet to the pond to <br />the adjacent wetland. The easement could be re -delineated to be farther away from the property. <br />The pond cannot be removed completely, but possibly re -engineered: The City will do its best to <br />improve the situation. <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook and seconded by Councilmember Olson to not remove the <br />pond; however, it should be re -engineered to make the situation better, if the property to the .east <br />develops. <br />• <br />City CounciUNovember 7, 2005 <br />Page 13 of 16 <br />on <br />
