CC Regular Session 5. 15. <br />Meeting Date: 11/22/2022 <br />By: Bruce Westby, Engineering/Public Works <br />Information <br />Title <br />Adopt Resolution #22-269 Authorizing Order for Tandem Axle Plow Truck <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The adopted 2022 - 2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) includes a 2023 capital equipment request to <br />replace the 2007 Tandem Axle Plow Truck, Unit #662. See attached CIP sheet 119. <br />The unadopted 2023 - 2032 CIP includes the same 2023 capital equipment request at an estimated cost of <br />$270,950 ($290,950 minus $20,000 trade-in), which is included in the 2023 General Fund budget preliminarily <br />adopted at the regular City Council meeting on September 13, 2022. See sheet 51 of the attached General Fund <br />budget document presented before the Public Hearing at the regular City Council meeting on September 13, 2022. <br />If this replacement tandem axle plow truck is ordered by November 30, 2022, the City will receive the 2022 body <br />buildout cost from TowMaster, a savings of 10 to 15-percent off the 2023 TowMaster body buildout cost, <br />reducing the purchase price between $13,700 and $20,500. <br />The City Council will consider adopting the 2023 - 2032 CIP following the Public Hearing at this same meeting, <br />November 22, 2022. Staff is therefore requesting advance Council authorization to order this replacement plow <br />truck by November 30, 2022, to obtain 2022 pricing for the TowMaster body buildout. <br />Funding Source: <br />Capital equipment purchases are requested on a case -by -case basis following the General Fund budget requests <br />and recommendations. The 2023 budget includes this replacement tandem axle dump truck with plow at an <br />estimated cost of $270,950.
