Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #22-272 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING FUNDING FROM THE MN ARTS AND CULTURAL <br />HERITAGE FUND, AND DONATION FROM VFW POST 5518 FOR A VETERANS <br />MEMORIAL <br />WHEREAS, MN State Statute 465.03 requires that a city pass a resolution that accepts <br />any donations or grants and <br />WHEREAS, two-thirds majority of the council members must adopt said resolution to <br />formally accept donation; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has received a cash donation from the Elk River/Rogers <br />VFW Post 5518 in the amount of $5,000 and separately, a $5,000 grant award from the Minnesota <br />Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund; <br />WHEREAS, the donation and grant will fund a Women Veteran's Memorial Sculpture. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA <br />COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby accepts the donation made by the Elk River/Rogers <br />VFW Post 5518 in the amount of $5,000, and graciously thanks the VFW's membership for <br />their contributions to recognizing Women Veteran's in Minnesota. <br />2) The donation and grant shall be applied specifically to Women Veteran's Memorial project <br />and in keeping with the requirements of the MN Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
