Member Kiefer suggested the EDA may want to consider implementing a redevelopment award
in the future for projects such as Sunfish Commons. Economic Development/TIF Specialist
advised he would recommend that the awards presented by the EDA be kept to a minimum.

Member Strommen noted the award is for the business of the year, and questioned whether there
should be an accomplishment of the recipient in the past year.

Member LeTourneau noted the spirit of the award was to recognize what these companies have
done for the community.

Economic Development/TIF Specialist Sullivan suggested based on Member Strommen's
comments, the EDA consider changing the name of the Business of the Year award prior to next
year's award.

The consensus of the EDA was to direct staff to include the Business of the Year award on the
EDA agenda in April or May to allow time for a process of reviewing the business list.

Motion carried.
