City of Ramsey 2006 Proposed General Fund Budget <br /> <br />PUBLIC SAFETY <br /> <br />Police lh'otectiou - The Police Department, under the direction of the Police Chief, is responsible for traffic and <br /> neighborhood patrol, incident investigation and crime prevention. <br /> <br />Fire Protection - The Fire Department, with a force of all part-time personnel, is responsible for the public safety <br /> services in the area of fire suppression, protection and emergency responses. <br /> <br />Building Inspection - This division is responsible for the administration of the State Building Code regulating <br /> construction and the use or occupancy of public and private buildings and structures. <br /> <br />Civil Delbnse - All costs associated with the upkeep and maintenance of the civil defense system, including civil <br /> defense sirens, are accumulated in this cost center. <br /> <br />Traffic Engineering - Costs related to the design, operations and maintenance of safe traffic control measures are <br /> charged to this cost center. <br /> <br />Animal Control - This cost center accumulates expenditures associated with the administration of the animal control <br /> contract. <br /> <br />Community Orienting Policing - Costs related to supplies and training pertaining to crime prevention are recorded in <br /> this cost center. <br /> <br />Public Hearing - December 5, 2005 <br /> <br /> <br />
