Commissioner Droegemueller stated that he was concerned with the tot lot being located adjacent <br />to the highway. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos replied that the Commission could recommend the planting of <br />trees adjacent to the playground to provide for some type of physical barrier in addition to the <br />fence. <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook noted that it appears that there will be a berm placed behind the playground. <br /> <br />Commissioner Droegemueller stated that he would like to see the design of the playground that <br />ACCAP is proposing. <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook suggested requesting a preliminary design of the playground and require <br />additional buffering and physical barrier adjacent to the playground for safety reasons. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum inquired if the sidewalks will be constructed along the extension of <br />Sunwood Drive. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos noted that the sidewalk has already been completed along <br />Sunwood Drive to T.H. #47, but as part of the site plan ACCAP did not include a sidewalk <br />within the development which is something that the Commission could recommend. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum stated that a sidewalk in the main entrance seems to be necessary. <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook suggested a sidewalk in the main entry and one going up to the playground. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Droegemueller, seconded by Commissioner Johns, to recommend the <br />following for park dedication: <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />That <br />That <br />That <br />such <br />That <br />That <br /> <br />a design plan of the playground equipment be submitted for staff approval. <br />the development agreement indicate that the tot lot will be maintained by ACCAP. <br />the site plan identify a trail route over the ACCAP property parallel to T.H. #47 and at. <br />time it may be constructed, that an easement be dedicated at no cost to the City. <br />cash satisfy Park Dedication for the 30 units equating to $36,000. <br />the trail fee be satisfied by a cash payment of $9,000. <br /> <br />That ACCAP's engineer be required to meet with City staff to determine which trees may be <br />preserved prior to any construction at the site. <br />That a barrier be placed adjacent to the playground equipment for added safety measures. <br />That a sidewalk be required one side of street entering the development and that a crosswalk <br />is recommended for the entrance to the playground. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
