Commissioner Droegemueller stated that he was concerned with the tot lot being located adjacent to the highway. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos replied that the Commission could recommend the planting of trees adjacent to the playground to provide for some type of physical barrier in addition to the fence. Chairperson Cook noted that it appears that there will be a berm placed behind the playground. Commissioner Droegemueller stated that he would like to see the design of the playground that ACCAP is proposing. Chairperson Cook suggested requesting a preliminary design of the playground and require additional buffering and physical barrier adjacent to the playground for safety reasons. Commissioner Ostrum inquired if the sidewalks will be constructed along the extension of Sunwood Drive. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos noted that the sidewalk has already been completed along Sunwood Drive to T.H. #47, but as part of the site plan ACCAP did not include a sidewalk within the development which is something that the Commission could recommend. Commissioner Ostrum stated that a sidewalk in the main entrance seems to be necessary. Chairperson Cook suggested a sidewalk in the main entry and one going up to the playground. Motion by Commissioner Droegemueller, seconded by Commissioner Johns, to recommend the following for park dedication: o That That That such That That a design plan of the playground equipment be submitted for staff approval. the development agreement indicate that the tot lot will be maintained by ACCAP. the site plan identify a trail route over the ACCAP property parallel to T.H. #47 and at. time it may be constructed, that an easement be dedicated at no cost to the City. cash satisfy Park Dedication for the 30 units equating to $36,000. the trail fee be satisfied by a cash payment of $9,000. That ACCAP's engineer be required to meet with City staff to determine which trees may be preserved prior to any construction at the site. That a barrier be placed adjacent to the playground equipment for added safety measures. That a sidewalk be required one side of street entering the development and that a crosswalk is recommended for the entrance to the playground. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Cook, Commissioners Droegemueller, Johns, and Ostrum. Voting No: None.
