Councilmember Connolly stated that it is an unusual situation where you can have an environmentally sensitive park yet have active use. Chairperson Cook explained that the park will have to be completed in phases. The first phase may only include grading and construction of the fields. Mr. Olsen suggested providing enough parking for the people going to the games rather than having them use the residential streets. Commissioner Droegemueller replied that he thinks they will be able to plan adequate parking. Cecil Harbaugh, 6011 160th Lane NW, Ramsey, stated that he would like to see plenty of bike paths in the park with a dirt trail for kids to ride their bikes. Bruce Bacon stated that there is a lot of interest in wildlife in the City and as part of this process they need to look at whether the activities are compatible. He stated that he would like to entertain the possibility of doing biological monitoring to determine if the water will be able to maintain the wildlife. Unknown resident inquired if there will be a response from MnDOT at the next meeting. Director of Public Works Kapler stated that one of the City Engineers is part of a MnDOT Board and he could have him do a preliminary study prior to the next steering committee meeting. Mayor Gamec addressed the residents concerns with speeding by pointing out that most people ticketed or warned for speeding are the neighborhood residents themselves. Chairperson Cook thanked everyone for their time and input and reviewed the primary comnlents.
