The individual then <br />posts the GPS coordinates along with a description of the cache on the Geocaching Website <br />www.qeocaching.com. Other individuals then try to find the cache. When it is located, participants sign <br />a logbook, then take or leave a small item. They also post their find on the onqine logbook. <br /> <br />The City of Champlin wants to encourage positive use of its parks and feels that geocaching can be a <br />good recreational activity in the parks with the following restrictions. <br /> <br />Geocaching is allowed in the City of Champlin Parks. Special-use areas and undeveloped parks may <br />have restrictions. Caches must be registered with the City of Champiin. <br /> <br />A limit of three caches will be allowed for each park, no more than one cache per person at an <br />individual park. <br /> <br />Caches are not to contain items that are offensive, dangerous, or illegal. <br /> <br />Access to caches will be subject to the City ordinance including hours of operation, designated trail <br />uses, maintenance standards and natural resources management activities. <br /> <br />Placement or gaining access to caches is resthcted to within 25 feet of a trail, and must not require <br />disturbance of the perk environment. <br /> <br />Caches are not to be buffed. Caches are not allowed in ecologically sens~ve areas such as <br />sanctuafies and environmental preservation areas. Some areas that are accessible in the winter may <br />not be accessible in the sp~ing or summer. You will be notified if your cache needs to be removed <br />because of a trail dosing. <br /> <br />The C~ of Champiin retains the fight to remove, or have removed; a cache it feels is in an <br />inappropriate location or is musing undo impact on the habitat, or if it is not registered wifh the City of <br />Champlin. <br /> <br />Caches are not allowed in reservation picnic areas, or playground areas. <br />Caches may be placed at the following perk locations: <br /> <br />· Andrews Park <br /> Galloway Park <br />· Mississippi Point Park <br />· Oxbow Park <br />· Jerry Ruppelius Athletic Complex <br /> <br />Recommendations for listing your site on www.qeocach nfl corn <br /> <br />· State the name of the park in your title. <br />· Information about the specific park can be found on our Website's park directory= <br /> <br />http://ci,champlin.mn.us/Park%20&%20Rec/geocaching.html 1/5/2006 <br />6 <br /> <br /> <br />
