MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />January 24, '2006 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Approval to Operate a Raffle <br /> <br />The attached application is from MN Deer Hunters Association-Isanti County Chapter for <br />exemption from a lawful gambling license to hold a raffle during the 2006 Game Fair. City <br />approval/denial is necessary under the State Statues. The MN Deer Hunters Association meets <br />all of the requirements which allows them to remain exempt from licensing, primarily from the <br />standpoint that the commodities to be raffled are valued at less than $12,000. <br /> <br />Approval requires' nothing more than a motion followed by a letter to the Gambling Control <br />Board, while if the request is denied, a formal re~olution for denial would need to be prepared <br />and submitted to the Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br />-43- <br /> <br /> <br />
