CC Work Session <br />Meeting Date: 02/14/2023 <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Discuss Council Organizational Terms on Boards and Commissions <br />2.3. <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: During the 2023 Council Organizational Appointments, staff recommended adjusting the Ordinance <br />language related to Councilmember terms on the EDA. Additionally, Councilmember Musgrove requested a <br />bigger discussion on the terms for other boards and commission appointments. <br />State Statute 469.095 provides the ability to set the term of the commissioners who are members of the city <br />council to coincide with their term of office. Updating the ordinance would allow for clear terms for <br />councilmembers. The way the ordinance currently reads, once a councilmember is appointed to the EDA, they <br />remain until they are no longer a member of council.
