Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #23-046 <br />RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE UPDATED POLICY FOR THE RECRUITMENT, <br />APPLICATION AND INTERVIEW PROCESS OF APPOINTING CITY BOARD AND <br />COMMISSION MEMBERS AND CHAIR MEMBER TERM ROTATIONS <br />WHEREAS, the City Council would like its practices and written policies for appointing <br />board and commission members to be efficient, effective and aligned with the City's strategic <br />plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council would like for the role of Board or Commission Chair to <br />be limited to two consecutive terms in order to provide for other members to learn the role; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council would like to clarify the incumbent reapplication process <br />whereby incumbents will be considered in one collective process with new applicants; and <br />WHEREAS, and incumbents, who, by Policy shall only sit for a repeat interview upon <br />request for an appointment to a third, fifth or seventh (etc.) term of their respective board. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />Motion to approve resolution # 23-046 to Adopt the Updated Policy for the Recruitment, <br />Application and Interview Process of Appointing City Board and Commission members and <br />Chair Member Term Rotations, as presented. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member, <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 14th day of February 2023. <br />Resolution 23-046 <br />
