CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Topic Report: CMAQ Grant Process <br />By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey applied for a Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) grant in <br />the fall of 2005. It had been reported last week that the Funding and Programming <br />Committee of the Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) had recommended funding of <br />the Ramsey project. <br /> <br />A TAB policy is in place that disqualifies funding for more than one project in the same <br />corridor. The City of Anoka has also made an application for CMAQ funding, however, <br />the Anoka grant application received less points in the grant funding process (scoring <br />attached to Topic Report). <br /> <br />During a discussion at the City Council meeting of January 24, City Council requested <br />that the City of Anoka formally request assistance of the City of Ramsey prior to any <br />measure of support for the Anoka grant application.
