Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Jeffrey, Elvig, Olson,
Pearson and Strommen. Voting No: None.

2) Consider Ending Probationary Period for Public Works maintenance Worker
Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that on March 28, 2005, Terry Byron, Jr. was hired as
a Public works Maintenance Worker. Mr. Byron has successfully completed his six-month
probationary period and the public Works Director recommends retaining Mr. Byron as a full-
time regular Public Works Maintenance Worker. The Personnel Committee recommended
ending his probationary period.
Motion by Councilmember Cook and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt Resolution
#05-11-372 ending the probationary period for Terry Byron, Jr. and granting status as a full-time
regular Public Works Maintenance Worker.

Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Pearson, Elvig, Jeffrey,
Olson and Strommen. Voting No: None.

Case #12: Report from Public Works

Councilmember Cook stated that the Public w°rks Committee met on October 18, 2005, at the
new Public Works Facility and temporary building, and discussed five cases.

1) Consider Request to Remove Drainage Pond at 5907 - 151st Lane NW
Councilmember Cook stated there is a drainage pond located at 5907 - 151st Lane NW and the
person neighboring th/s pond would like to see it removed. The pond is a filtration pond and the
water has to have a sediment pond. It may be possible to re-delineate the area around the pond
and look at also if the exiting water can be changed to a different elevation - if it could be
redesigned, etc.

Mayor Gamec stated that we have done some things with dry wells.

It was noted that 2/3 of this property is in the drainage easement.
Councilmember Cook stated that the Committee talked about lowering the outlet to the pond to
the adjacent wetland. The easement could be re-delineated to be farther away from the property.
The pond cannot be removed completely, but possibly re-engineered. The City will do its best to
improve the situation.

Motion by Councilmember Cook and seconded by Councilmember Olson to not remove the
pond; however, it should be re-engineered to make the situation better, if the property to the east
develops.

City Council/November 7, 2005
P25
