<br /> <br />Councilmember Woestehoff offered a friendly amendment to pull and table consideration of only <br />the Norman Tobacco license as there are other licenses on this list for approval in this item. <br /> <br />Councilmembers Specht and Riley agreed to the friendly amendment. <br /> <br />City Attorney Knaak suggested the City take the additional 60 days to provide information to the <br />applicant. He recommended Council to direct Staff to send a letter to the applicant indicating that <br />an additional 60 days is required based on the 15.99 provision. <br /> <br />Councilmember Specht amended the motion to include that staff send a letter to Norman Tobacco <br />indicating an additional 60 days is required. <br /> <br />Councilmember Woestehoff thanked the Phelps for showing up this evening and for their efforts <br />to curb tobacco use in the City. He shared that he lost his father in 2017, who was a lifelong smoker. <br />He explained that this matter is personal to him; however, it is hard for him to deny a license to <br />someone who meets every requirement that has been put in front of them. <br /> <br />Mayor Kuzma asked Police Chief Katers to follow-up on the license. <br /> <br />Councilmember Musgrove thanked the residents for coming forward and speaking on this. <br /> <br />Councilmember Howell commented that this business has the right to operate regardless of <br />individual’s opinions. She shared that in order to be supportive of denying a license, it would <br />depend on information coming in verifying that this company was selling products to minors. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Kuzma, Councilmembers Specht, Riley, Howell, Musgrove, <br />Olson, and Woestehoff. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Woestehoff, seconded by Councilmember Musgrove, approving the <br />other businesses licenses in the case. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Kuzma, Councilmembers Woestehoff, Musgrove, Howell, <br />Olson, Riley, and Specht. Voting No: None. <br />6.
