Councilmember Strommen suggested the EDA review the Five Year Goals drafted by the City <br />Council last year to determine what goals are relevant to the EDA. The Council goals and the <br />EDA goals could be reviewed side by side to determine where they overlap. <br /> <br />Member Gromberg suggested the Business Appreciation Event be limited to less than 40 teams. <br />Economic DevelopmentJTIF Specialist Sullivan replied at a future meeting the Board will <br />consider whether to have the golf tournament expand to incorporate golf on two courses. Mayor <br />Gamec has indicated he does not want any teams to be turned away from the event. <br /> <br />Chairperson Riley noted as a group the EDA has gotten out of planning the actual golfing event. <br />He inquired if the EDA will become involved in planning the event again. Economic <br />DevelopmentFFIF Specialist Sullivan replied he may need assistance with certain things as the <br />event comes closer. <br /> <br />The 2006 work plan was determined as follows, with changes shown in italics: <br /> <br />TIF Incentives/Land Purchases/CDBG · Tin Pan Alley <br /> · Industrial/Business Park Properties <br /> · Continue acquisition ofblighted props <br /> · Additional funding sources <br /> · Acquisition and marketing of additional industrial land <br /> <br />Signs <br /> <br />Redevelop signs (continue to use and update) <br />City of Ramsey monument signs <br /> <br />Marketing · Update marketing brochures/advertisements <br /> · Continue to advertise in Real Estate Journal <br /> · Update Website (highlight Economic Development) <br /> · Work with Post Office towards creation of zip code for the City of Ramsey <br /> <br />Communication with Businesses · Ramsey Resident <br /> <br /> · Initiate additional publications or events <br /> · Initiate additional publications or events <br /> · Business connection newsletter (less frequent) <br /> · QCTV Economic Development updates (be certain nothing older than 6 months is being <br /> run) <br /> · Business Connection Meeting(s) (1 or 2 depending on the need for the year) <br /> <br /> · EDA Tour oflocalbusinesses <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority/January 11, 2006 <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
