Councilmember Connolly stated that it would be nice to bring in a business who pays their <br />employees a high wage. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he would prefer to spend the money on something else <br />rather than a transfer station. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly stated that the proposed site is an industrial area and if they are a <br />decent corporate citizen and have a nice building she does not see a problem with providing the <br />assistance. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he would not be in favor of TIF financing and the only <br />way he would vote on a site plan is if it had good screening from the street. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that he has told Ace that he could not promise the TIF funds. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly stated that, in her opinion, it would depend on how much TIF funds <br />would be involved. <br /> <br />The majority of the Council was not in favor of using TIF funds for the Ace Solid Waste project. <br /> <br />#6: Maken Property Redevelopment Analysis <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that the Council had requested more information on the <br />adjacent properties. He explained that most code enforcement issues were related to Danny's <br />Tranny, but noted the business is being sold to a new owner. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that if Danny's Tranny has violated his conditional use <br />permit, then the permit can be legally revoked. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly replied that if the City were to acquire the property, then the City <br />would be responsible for cleaning the entire site. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that it has not been a good operation, but things have "cooled <br />off" in the last few years. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen replied that if they do not comply with their conditional use permit, <br />then the City should be able to take legal action. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec requested that staff check into the conditional use permit and the process of <br />revocation. <br /> <br />City Council/March 21, 1999 <br /> Page 6 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
