State Aid routes than those same mutes currently designated on the existing map. The City <br />Engineer also informed the Public Works Committee that 1.95 additional miles are available to <br />be designated within the City. The Committee reviewed the current State Aid System map and <br />directed no specific changes other than that proposed by the City Engineer. The Committee <br />further directed staff to designate as much of the remaining available mileage as possible. <br /> <br />4) Corridor Modifications to Introduce Right-of-Way Ordinance <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that the Public Works Committee reviewed a draft of a the <br />Right-of-Way Ordinance following modifications proposed by Connexus Energy and reviewed <br />by staff. Direction was provided by the Committee on several policy points. The Committee <br />recommended that the ordinance be sent back to City Council in the newly revised form and be <br />considered either for adoption or re-introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich reviewed wording changes that should be made to the document prior to <br />adoption. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to introduce the ordinance <br />with changes recommended by the City Attorney, amending section 4.10 of the City Code which <br />ordinance is intended to manage and administer the use of the public right-of-way in the public <br />interest, and to provide for the issuance and regulation of right-of-way permits. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Connolly, Anderson, Hendriksen, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />5) Mississippi River Crossing Preference <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that staff prepared a resolution asserting a preference for a <br />proposed Mississippi River crossing which would be shown at a location southwest of C.R.//83. <br />This would be consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan. The Public Works Committee <br />recommended approval of the resolution. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to Adopt Resolution #00- <br />03-078 asserting a proposed Mississippi River Crossing preference. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Anderson, Connolly, <br />and Zimmerman.
