Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: <br /> <br />Consider authorizing a Contract for Cleaning Services for Municipal <br />Facilities <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that the City has been with its current cleaning <br />service for the Municipal Center, Fire Stations No. 1 and 2, and the Police Department, for about <br />a year. Staff went out for proposals for cleaning services for this next year and has had the <br />opportunity to review them. She presented the bid numbers and added that she had done some <br />reference checks with companies currently employing these services. Ms. Nelson requested <br />authorization to enter into a contract at a not to exceed amount and spend a bit more time in <br />financing discussions with the two lowest bidders Carlson Building Services, Inc. and CMBS <br />LLC. She informed Council that the plan is to stay with two days a week for 2006. She stated <br />she is still talking with them as to how they came up with their numbers, etc., as we are spending <br />more time than these numbers right now. She contacted two other municipalities they work for <br />and got "glowing remarks". <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to authorize Ms. <br />Nelson to contract with a cleaning service for Municipal facilities at a not to exceed amount of <br />$1,200. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #11: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook stated that the Personnel Committee met earlier and discussed two cases. <br /> <br />1) Consideration of Resolution Reappointing Board and Commission Members <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook reported that the Planning Commission tabled action on this case and <br />asked to review the policy and procedures for reappointment to Boards and Commissions and <br />also appointing new members to the Board. They would like a new policy in place prior to <br />considering these reappointments. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook and seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey to table the <br />reappointments and bring back a policy for review relating to reappointments and new <br />appointments to Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Strommen asked about discussion of changes to the policy. <br />Councilmember Cook reported that the Personnel Committee did not make any decisions on the <br />policy, but they would like to see when a person comes up for reappointment that they apply <br />with others and an appointment decision will be made from a much larger pool.
