The Council discussed the possibility of the City creating a Ramsey Park & Recreation <br />Department in the future. It was noted that a Park & Recreation Department could include the <br />following: recreational activities that go beyond organized sports; activities for all age groups; <br />incorporation of the future community center under the Park & Recreation Department. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen noted the organization study should provide insight into the <br />possibility of a Park & Recreation Department. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stressed the need to consider the identity issue of children involved in <br />sports and a transition away from the merger. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec directed staff to include a discussion of a Park & Recreation Department on a <br />future work session, to obtain input from other cities, and to obtain input from the Park Board. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />The Work Session of the City Council was adjourned at 6:56 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />James E.
