MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />February l4,2006 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Approval to Operate a Raffle <br /> <br />The attached application is from Anoka Chapter Ducks Unlimited for exemption from a lawful <br />gambling license to hold a raffle at JRS Saloon and Food on April 1, 2006. The Anoka Chapter <br />Ducks Unlimited meets all of the requirements which allows them to remain exempt from <br />licensing, primarily from the standpoint that the commodities to be raffled are valued at less than <br />$12,000. <br /> <br />Approval requires nothing more than a motion followed by a letter to the Gambling Control <br />Board, while if the request is denied, a formal resolution for denial would need to be prepared <br />and submitted to the Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br />-133- <br /> <br /> <br />
