CASE #: 5 <br /> <br />CONSIDER APPROVING 2006 AFSCME LABOR AGREEMENT <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On Wednesday, February 8, 2006, City staff and AFSCME reached tentative agreement <br />on a one-year labor agreement. Below is a list of the terms and conditions that have been <br />tentatively agreed to. <br /> <br />Wages: <br /> <br />2006-3% plus applicable step increases <br /> <br />Insurance: <br /> <br />2006: Single: $426.50 <br />2006: Family: $665.00 <br /> <br />Holidays: <br /> <br />Additional four hour floater <br /> <br />Sick Leave/ 15 yrs 35% <br />Severance: <br /> <br />Calculating <br />OT/Sick/ <br />Vacation <br />Accruals <br /> <br />Uniform <br />Allowance: <br /> <br />For purposes of calculating overtime, sick leave, and vacation <br />leave, an employee using paid holidays, vacation leave, or sick <br />leave, is considered to be working. <br /> <br />Public Works Maintenance Workers, Engineering Technicians and <br />Building Inspectors may submit an original receipt to the <br />EMPLOYER for a one time reimbursement once every year for the <br />purchase of work boots for the cost of the boots for $100, <br />whichever is less. <br /> <br />Duration: <br /> <br />Memorandum <br />of Understanding: <br /> <br />1 year <br /> <br />The Labor Management Committee will be used as a vehicle to <br />discuss plan design options for health insurance plans. <br /> <br />The Labor Management Committee will provide input regarding <br />the organizational and classification & compensation studies. The <br />organizational and classification & compensation studies will be <br />completed in 2006, pending City Council approval. <br /> <br />The Bureau of Mediation Services will be utilized to facilitate the <br />labor management meetings, as needed. <br /> <br />-303- <br /> <br /> <br />
