FC CASE <br /> <br />CONSIDER CONSULTING SERVICES WITH HSP & ASSOCIATES <br /> By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City of P,~nsey has used the services of HSP & Associates for consulting and advisory <br />services to the City in connection with its Chinese Sister City. Recently, the City initiated <br />discussion of a possibility of a Chinese anchor store in either the Ramsey Town Center or the <br />Ramsey Crossings commercial project. A contract has been made to Lili Chan who has located <br />an interested party in China that would possibly locate in the United States. To continue the <br />negotiations with the Chinese firm, staff would recommend entering into a consulting agreement <br />with HSP & Associates to determine if a Chinese commercial retailer will locate in either of the <br />commercial centers of Ramsey. <br /> <br />A consulting agreement has been prepared, as well as an annual retainer of $5,000, an hourly rate <br />of $150, plus expenses. Staff would recommend that a not-to-exceed contract of $5,000 be <br />extended and that the revenues be used from the Economic Development Authority under the <br />Economic Development Authority budget. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend City Council enter into a consulting agreement with HSP & Associates for <br />consulting and advisory services to locate a Ch/nese commercial interest in Ramsey for a not-to- <br />exceed amount of $5,000. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />FC: 02/14/06 <br /> <br />-313- <br /> <br /> <br />
