Councilmember Elvig suggested the City work towards obtaining the federal dollars available for
these improvement projects on its own, rather than joint venturing on projects. He expressed
concern that there has not been a lot of activity from the City of Anoka in putting together a
Thurston Street interchange.

Assistant Public Works Director Olson advised the City can be as aggressive as possible in
trying to obtain funding, but there would not likely be any work on the interchanges for seven to
ten years. These improvements are temporary, but needed in the interim period.

MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT

None.

ADJOURNMENT

The Work Session of the City Council was adjourned at 6:55 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

James E.
