Councihnember Anderson stated that the ordinance previously failed and the motion to <br />reconsider would have to be made by someone on the prevailing side. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich explained that if the motion to reconsider passes then either side can <br />make the next motion. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to reconsider <br />the adoption of the Density Transition Ordinance which failed at the December 12, 2000 City <br />Council meeting. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Anderson stated that she had thought that Councilmember <br />Hendriksen had asked to discuss an initiative petition of ordinance and recall. Councilmember <br />Hendriksen replied that that was a separate issue. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Connolly, Hendriksen, and Zimmerman. Voting <br />No: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmember Anderson. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich noted that now the Council can reconsider the Density Transition <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to reconsider <br />and adopt an Ordinance establishing density transition standards. <br /> <br />A roll call vote was performed by the Recording Secretary: <br /> <br />Councihnember Hendriksen aye <br />Councihnember Anderson no <br />Councilmember Connolly aye <br />Councihnember Zimmerman aye <br />Mayor Gamec no, <br /> <br />Motion failed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen referenced Section 4.4 of City Charter which states that the Council <br />can call for a special election or an advisory election for any reason. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to adopt <br />Resolution #00-12-342 calling for a binding special election on the inclusion of density transition <br />standards. <br /> <br />Further discussion: City Attorney Goodrich noted that he had not had a chance to review the <br />resolution that was presented to the Council for adoption. Mayor Gamec stated that it was <br />absurd to hold an election on January 3~ with the holidays coming up.
