Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to receive Chris Dempsey's <br />letter of resignation and authorize staff to begin the process to fill the vacancy on the Planning <br />Commission and Board of Adjustment created by Mr. Dempsey's resignation. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Anderson, Connolly, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #12: Receive Names of Interested Individuals for the Horse Care Board <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that this summer, the Community Development Department <br />received requests to resolve issues that traditionally are addressed by the Horse Care Board. This <br />group meets on an as needed basis and, as such, has not met for several years. Staff has received <br />five names of residents who are interested in sitting on the Horse Board. Those individuals are <br />Barbara Scottston, previous Chair of the Horse Care Board; Dorothy Breu, previous Horse Care <br />Board member; Carolyn Shumway, pervious Horse Care Board member; Ray Shumway and <br />Sharon Niles. No letters of interest were submitted. These individuals advised the Community <br />Development Department of their interest via telephone. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he personally knows each of the individuals and knows <br />that they all understand horses which should be a requirement of being a member on the Horse <br />Care Board. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to appoint <br />Barbara Scottston, Dorothy Breu, Carolyn Shumway, Ray ShUmway, and Sharon Niles to the <br />Horse Care Board. <br /> <br />Motion carried. 'Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Anderson, Connolly, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to reconvene <br />the Horse Care Board to settle issues brought to the Community Development Department. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #13: Report from the Public Works Committee <br /> <br />1) Update on Trunk Highway #47 <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that staff reported that a letter had been sent to Mr. Greg Felt <br />of MnDOT requesting MnDOT's position on extending the screening wall through the section of <br />T.H. #47 adjacent to the Willow Ridge subdivision.
