City Engineer Jankowski replied that the trail would be placed on the back side of the wall. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that in some respect the trail area will not be as safe. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly inquired if the City will have full maintenance of the walls. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that the issue of maintenance has not been settled with MnDOT, <br />but the wall will be built on City property, and should require very low maintenance. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Mayor Gamec, to complete the sound wall <br />to the outside edges as suggested by the residents of Willow Ridge. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Anderson, <br />Connolly, and.Hendriksen: Voting No: None. <br /> <br />2) Barium Street <br /> <br />Councihnember Zimmerman noted that the Public Works Committee discussed the storm <br />drainage problem along Barium Street and they recommended that staff move forward with the <br />project. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to ratify the <br />direction of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Report from the Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) Receive Information on Hiring of Patrol Officer <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that on October 10, 2000, Council authorized the hiring of one <br />of five finalists for the patrol officer position and requested staff bring the name of the newly <br />hired officer to the next meeting. Final interviews were held on October 11, 2000, and based on <br />the panel's recommendation, Timothy Frankfurth was offered a position as a patrol officer with <br />the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />2) Authorize Hiring of Office Supervisor <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Anderson, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to authorize the <br />hiring of Joleen Wiemann for the position of Office Supervisor with a starting salary of $35,602 <br />with two weeks vacation per year. Her employment offer is contingent upon a successful <br /> <br />City Council/October 24, 2000 <br /> Page 26 of 31 <br /> <br /> <br />
