5 Minutes Case #14

By:

PROPOSED M~/DOT COOPERATIVE
AGREEMENT PROJECTS
Peter R. Raatikka, City Engineer

Background:

On May 18, 1988, I sent in a request for cooperative agreement funds
for the following three projects:

A. Median Crossing at the Proposed Intersection of 153rd Avenue
N.W. and T.H. No. 10.

B. Storm Sewer at the Intersection of Sunfish Lake Boulevard and
T.H. No. 10.

C. Signal Revisions at the Intersection of Sunfish Lake
Boulevard and T. H. No. 10.

On September 1, 1988, I received a letter dated August 30, 1988
from the Mn/DOT District State Aid Engineer Mr. Weichselbaum stating
that all three projects were approved for Cooperative Agreement Funds
for fiscal year 1989. In order to take advantage of the funds, the
City Council must pass a resolution for each of the projects
requesting state participation.

Enclosed are copies of the proposed resolutions requesting State
Participation and a copy of my May 18, 1988 letter and Mr.
Weichselabum's letter of August 30, 1988.

Recommendation:

I would recommend that the City pass the resolutions requesting
State Participation on all three projects. The City should also
prepare a feasibility study at Sunfish Lake Boulevard and T.H. No. 10
to determine the estimated cost of the project to the City.

Council Action:

Motion to:

Adopt Resolution #88- , #88- , #88- , requesting State Partici-
pation for the three projects approved for Cooperative Agreement
Funds.
