Request to vacate drainage easement on Lots 3 and 4, Block 3, <br />Woodland Green. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called the regular meeting back to order at 7:44 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Bawden and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />approve the following items contained in the Consent Agenda: <br /> <br />1) Refer to page 13 for adoption of resolution approving first half bills <br /> for the month cf October, 1988. <br /> <br />Approve selection of election judges. <br /> <br />3) Approve request for Amusement Center/Billiards license; case of Chips <br /> 10. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />Pearson, Bawden and DeLuca. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />CO N BU N SS <br /> <br />Case ~l~ Pre~entmtlon By Mr. Dmv~d SteDh,n~on From TH, Minn~sot~ <br /> DeDmrtment Of A?rieulture; <br /> <br />Jeanette Monear of the An oka County Extension Service was present and <br />stated that she works on organizing neighborhood programs for the control <br />of Oak Wilt in Anoka County. Ms. Monear stated that the Oak Wilt problem <br />is worsening in Ramsey and if the problem is not addressed, there will be a <br />stigma in residential growth. <br /> <br />David Stephenson of the Department of Agriculture stated that Oak Wilt has <br />hit Anoka County harder than any other area in the entire Country. Mr. <br />Stephenson recalled that Ramsey adopted a diseased tree ordinance this past <br />spring. The next step for Ramsey is to identify priority areas of control <br />and begin to enforce that ordinance in those areas. Mr. Stephenscn stated <br />that he is available to assist cities in drawing out a tree program <br />specific to their city. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann inquired as to what should be done with the Pine trees <br />destroyed in a recent fire near Puma Street and Hwy. ~10. <br /> <br />Ms. Monear replied that the damaged Pines along Puma will be infected with <br />pine beetles and they will infest nearby healthy trees. The trees also <br />pose a fire hazard; the damaged trees should be removed from the site or <br />burned. <br /> <br />Mr. Wes Sahweiger stated that he is interested in purchasing land in <br />Kamsey but he is very discouraged with the lack of Oak Wilt disease <br />control.
