Voting No: None. <br /> <br /> Case ~11: Establish Economic Development Authorltv: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley explained the powers of an Economic Development Authority and <br />that a specified number of councilmembers serving on the board is required. <br />The Northern Mayors' Association is asking all of it's member cities to <br />establish economic development authorities and each one of the respective <br />EDA's enter into a joint powers agreement f or the purpose of conducting <br />economic development types of activities. <br /> <br /> Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br /> hold a public hearing on a proposed enabling resolution to create an <br /> economic development authority within the City of Ramsey on September 13, <br /> 1988 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. Fees At The Landfill: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that State Legislature has increased by $.10 the amount <br />that cities can collect as tipping fees for waste deposited at landfills. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />introduce an ordinance to increase the tipping fee at the landfill to 35 <br />cents per cubic yard. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
