ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Economic Development Commission conducted a special meeting on Wednesday, March 15, <br />1989 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard Northwest, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Ken Wagner, Chairman <br />Mr. Jack Ippel <br />Mr. Don Greenberg <br />Mr. Darryl FuRS <br />Mr. Bob Muller <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Mark Banwart, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mr. Bernie Vevea <br />Mr. Steve Gorecki <br />Mr. Tom Kurak <br />Mr. Glen Hardin <br /> <br />Chairman Wagner called the regular Economic Development Commission meeting to order at 7:41 a.m. <br /> <br />~ITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />,a, pP1ROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />The consensus of the Commission was to approve the agenda. <br /> <br />COMMIg.qlON Bll~INE,R~q <br /> <br />Case #I: ,qtar City Work Proerarn <br /> <br />Mark Banwart handed out the 1 and 5 year plan for the Star City Program and told the Commission that the <br />Community profile needs some major revisions. <br /> <br />Commissioner Greenberg told the Commission that he felt the person who started the 1 and 5 year plan did <br />a good job at outlining what needed to be done. but that he would have liked him to present it. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel said that by not being a Star City, Ramsey is missing out on a lot of economic <br />development. He also said that the Star City program is an on going project and that the Community <br />Profile has to be revised every year to keep up with the changes. <br /> <br />Commissioner Greenberg told the Commission that part of this program was to be set up as a self- <br />evaluation to see what we have done. He also told the Commission that he felt the 5 year plan is pretty <br />well complete. <br /> <br />Commissioner Greenberg suggested the Star City Committee go through the I and 5 year plan and tell the <br />Commission what should be changed. He also suggested having someone go through the Capital <br />Improvement Plan. <br /> <br />Chairman Wagner asked Commissioner Ippel if he was working on another brochure for the City. <br /> <br />Economic Development Commission / March 15, 1989 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
