WHEREAS, the Parties wish to enter <br /> <br />pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Sections <br />sion 7, for the purposes of providing for the environmentally <br />operation, closure and maintenance of the Landfill; ensuring <br />prompt and appropriate Remedial Action is taken in the event <br /> <br />into this Agreement, made <br />471.59 and 473.811, Subdivi- <br />sound <br />that <br />of a <br /> <br />Release or threatened Release of Hazardous Substances, Pollutant or <br />Contaminants into the environment; and assign-ing responsibility for <br />Remedial action in connection with any Release of any Hazardous Sub- <br />stances, Pollutant or Contaminant. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises and of the <br />mutual promises and covenants hereafter provided, the Parties agree as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> 1. OBLIGATIONS OF THE CITY: <br /> <br />The CITY shall consider granting the permits and licenses <br />to operate and expand the Landfill. The CITY is under no <br /> <br /> 1.1 <br /> <br />necessary <br />obligation to the COUh'TY to ~rant such licenses or permits.
