She indicated that when she bought her lot she did because she loved how quiet it was. She <br />stated that she worked at the same job for seven years and it takes her more and more time to get <br />to work. She indicated that her husband works downtown and it takes him as long to get off <br />Highway 5 as it does to get downtown. <br /> <br />Ms. Narrr indicated that you cannot put more traffic that will be trying to get onto Highway 5. <br />She stated that this needs to be single-family homes in keeping with the area. She indicated that <br />she loves Ramsey; she grew up here, but she hates this. She stated that the City is giving up <br />what Ramsey is, and allowing this type of development to happen is compromising Ramsey. <br />She indicated that it is not only the safety of the residents, but also what people will think of <br />Ramsey in ten years. She stated she appreciates the upscale development, but hopes they can <br />bring this back to single-family to keep with the community. <br />Joel Anderson, 6080 151st Lane, showed the areas around the proposal, and how dense the <br />proposed project area looks. He stated he wanted to point out how the neighborhood is now, and <br />how it will be. <br /> <br /> Robin Moody, 6040 151st Lane, stated that she wanted to touch on a few points in the letter. She <br /> indicated that not too long ago she considered moving to the south suburbs with her husband, <br /> since his children live in that area. She stated that they decided to stay here because they love the <br /> area, and decided to expand their home. She indicated that they have started that process, and <br /> then they see this. She stated that they thought the area would remain single-family, and this <br /> concerns them. She indicated that it concerns her that there will be 118 more cars a block from <br /> an elementary school. She stated it is already scary now. <br /> <br /> Ms. Moody indicated that when she comes home at night and is waiting to mm there are cars <br /> illegally passing her to get around her. She stated she thinks these are viable concerns. <br /> Ken Shank, 5908 151s. Lane, stated his wife is in education, and noticed an article about Ramsey <br /> having the largest kindergarten classes in the Twin Cities. He asked where all the k/ds fi-om 60 <br /> homes will go to school. He stated that Ramsey does not have the school structure to house all <br /> of these children. <br /> Simeon Wiechrnann, 16351 Olivine Street, stated he is in support of. this development. He <br /> indicated he looked at this proposal and it is very well put together. He agreed that Ramsey is a <br /> great place to live, and he thinks the City needs to get it booming. He stated that he likes the <br /> features that would be included in this development. <br /> <br /> Julie Johnson, 15170 Quicksilver, asked if the developer has a second plan for single-family <br /> homes. <br /> <br /> Vice Chairperson Johnson stated that is really a question for the developer, however Staff is <br /> saying that the Plann/ng Commission should take public comment because it was posted as a <br /> public hearing, but they do not have enough information to recommend moving forward, so the <br /> <br /> Planning Commission/February 2, 2006 <br /> Page 12 of 21 <br />P12 <br /> <br /> <br />
